Unlike most extended batteries thatusually feature a less-than-invigorating flashing light to demonstrate the amount of stored energywithin the battery itself, the Pulse has a fully comprehensive screen which measures the amountof stored battery power to the nearest 1% (really cool). The Pulse comes in to colors a glossy white and a glossy black, both are fairly attractive, especially when compared to your stereotypical extended battery packs. I would like to call it theBMW of battery packs. As far as its technical features, the Maxboost Pulse as a 10,000mAh battery cell which meansyou can charge your iPhone 5 and iPad on a single charge. Plus the Pulse has two charging portsfor extra efficiency. Simply plug your iPhone in one port, the iPad (or any other USB device forthat matter) in the other and the Pulse will begin to charge both. This is a really nifty feature ifyou’re on the go or have multiple products that need charging. The viewing screen not only tells how much charge you have but also which ports you are using, and also displays if you are charging the Pulse or another product. This might seem superfluousto some, but it makes pretty dummy proof. I won’t argue with a product that can work foranyone.A particular bonus feature of the Pulse is that it has a flashlight built in. Again, maybe not whateveryone is looking for, but I appreciate Maxboost trying to cover its bases. From my experience with this product so far I have been overall pretty happy with it. It chargesall the accessories I have in a quite amount of time. I like the look and am happy with the sizeand weight considering how powerful it is.If I had to mention a negative I would say that it takes some time to charge. I recommend lettingit charge overnight before going out and using it.Make sure to check out the video to see how it works in a bit more detail than I can write here.

Does not live up to the specifications I bought a Maxboost Pulse 10000mAh Dual 5V 3A battery pack charger from Power Innovations (through Amazon). I had problems with the first unit: the case was cracked in two places, and it did not meet the specifications as listed on Amazon’s site. I contacted Power Innovations, who ended up sending two replacement units, since one was delayed by the USPS. So I have had a chance to test three chargers and decided to write this review based on the tests. The site says that the Maxboost Pulse is able to charge two devices at once. So I plugged in my iPad mini in the 2.1 port, and my iPhone 5 in the 1.0 port (as instructed). The unit starts charging, but then shuts down after a few seconds. At this point the charger acts dead. There is no way to turn it back on. I discovered it can be reset by plugging in the charging cable, used to charge the device. (If I was traveling and didn’t have the charging cable, I would be out of luck.) This revives the charger. The only way I could get the Pulse to charge two devices at once was by switching the ports: plugging the iPad into the lower power port and the iPhone into the high power port. This is not recommended in the instructions. This worked with two of the chargers – the third one failed as before. The Pulse is supposed to shut down when it fully charges a device. While it may be doing so, there is no change in the display when a device becomes fully charged. It stills shows the active port on the screen is being used. This was the case with all three chargers.I fully charged all three of the Pulse’s to 100% before testing them. Charging two devices together, starting at about 30% power with the iPad and 75% power with the iPhone consumed over 50% of the charger’s capacity. This may improve as I use it. But it is disappointing for a 10000mAh charger, if these are the actual results. The charger itself is very handsome with a nice finish and a beautiful, very readable, display. It appears to be a very high quality product. I just wished it lived up to the advertising.BTW, Power Innovations was great to deal with. They sent the replacements quickly and enclosed return labels, so the exchange cost me nothing (as it should). One more thing, if you read all of the other reviews (all giving the charger 5 stars) it appears that English is the second language of all of the reviewers. I am very suspicious that these reviews were written by the manufacturer. Try rereading one, and see what you think.

Great idea Please read update.Fails when you need it most. As another reviewer stated, the battery can crash and the only way to get it to work again is to plug it in. Well the reason you’re probably buying it is bc you can’t plug your phone in at that moment. Therefore, epic fail.Edit:Power Innovations were very easy to work with and they replaced my unit right away, as it was clearly defective. The new one works without a hitch and I couldn’t be more impressed. I can charge my iPhone 5 somewhere around 5-6 times on a single charge. Power Innovations gets 5 stars and the product, now that it works, gets 5 stars. If you decide to go with this unit, be patient and know you may not get one that works correctly the first time.
